David Nguyen is a small-business owner and parent of three HISD students. He has served on the campus advisory team at two District III schools and previously chaired a district bond oversight committee.

Why are you running for this office?

I want every District III student to have a clear pathway to college, career, or the trades when they graduate.

Priorities
What is the single most important issue facing this jurisdiction, and how would you address it?

Career and technical education. I would expand industry partnerships so students leave high school with credentials that lead to jobs.

How would you approach the office’s budget priorities and fiscal oversight?

I would treat the bond program as a sacred trust and require independent audits of every major capital line item.

How will constituents be able to reach you and provide input?

I will host quarterly business and parent roundtables and publish a dashboard tracking my responses to constituent requests.

I will publish my voting rationale within one week of every board meeting.
